With the realization of nature reserves in the Grande Cariçaie, an important precondition for this development was created: thus on one hand protected areas for the fauna on the lake and in the marshes were established and on the other hand some basic behaviour rules were defined such as the driving ban for vehicles within the nature reserves or the obligation to keep dogs on the leash.
Generally speaking the nature reserves are still accessible for nature lovers. Walks, bathing and activities on and around the lake are possible in various places.
